Somerset Hospital through Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield will offer the Eat Well for Life 2 program beginning in October 2010. Two separate classes will be offered beginning October 6th. One class will be held at 3:00 p.m. with the other class being offered at 6:00 p.m. It is a four-week program with additional sessions scheduled for October 13, 20 and 27.
Eat Well for Life 2 is a lifestyle improvement program promoting wellness and long-term weight management through balanced meal planning whether dining at home or dining out. Participants are educated on ways to maximize energy with high quality nutrition. In addition, tools are provided that can be used to promote lifelong health and wellness.
There is no fee required for Highmark members to participate in Eat Well for Life 2, and only a nominal fee for non-Highmark members who sign up. The professional staff at Somerset Hospital has been trained by Highmark to administer this weight management program.
