Farming Again After a Knee Replacement

Robert Will worked on the family farm all of his life.  After 75 years, his knee began to wear out from the stress of crawling up and down from his tractor but mostly from the milking chores. "My knee had been bothering me for the last 3 to 4 years.  I tried Synvisc and cortisone injections, but it didn’t help," stated Robert.

It was around August of 2013 that Robert’s pain started to get worse.  This was also about the time that Dr. Michael Sobolewski started practicing at Somerset Orthopedics.  Robert met with Dr. Sobolewski and decided to have a knee replacement.

"Dr. Sobolewski took time to talk to me about the process and my recovery went very well with the assistance of Somerset Hospital Home Health. I had limited pain and could walk easily," added Robert.  In fact, shortly after the knee replacement, Robert could walk the 26 steps from his basement to the third floor of his home.  It was only two weeks later that he was back feeding the calves and the cows and doing general work around the farm.

"I’m very pleased with Dr. Sobolewski, his staff and the staff of Somerset Hospital Home Health.  I would recommend them to anyone," concluded Mr. Will.
