Free Colorectal Cancer Screening 2012

Free colorectal cancer test kits will be available at the Somerset Oncology Center weekdays during the month of March. Stop in any weekday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sponsored by Somerset Hospital and the Somerset Oncology Center. For additional information, call the Oncology Center at 814-444-1424.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Colorectal Cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the United States. If everyone over the age of 50 had regular screening tests, at least 60% of deaths from this cancer could be avoided. So if you are 50 or older, please consider getting tested now. The kits are free and it could save your life.
Both men and women get colorectal cancer and the risk increases with age.
You are at high risk if:
- you or a close relative have had colorectal polyps
- you have inflammatory bowel disease
- you have a genetic syndrome such as familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) or hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer
