Hospital Physicians Named LECOM Providers
LECOM (Lake Erie College of Medicine) has appointed 19 members of the Somerset Hospital Medical Staff as either Adjunct Clinical Instructors or Adjunct Clinical Associate Professors. The instructors are now part of a network of nearly 1,200 physicians who are making a commitment to teaching medical students at their respective hospitals, clinics, and practice offices.

Somerset Hospital Medical staff members appointed to the LECOM include: Dr. Philip Basala, Dr. Charles Camacho, Dr. Prakash Ghatge, Dr. George Grof-Tisza, Dr. Jonathan Kates, Dr. Jeffrey Lavanier, Dr. Shehnaz Mohsin, Dr. Shomendra Moitra, Dr. V. Krishnan Nair. Dr. Anil Parekh, Dr. Alfred Poggi, Dr. Christopher Poggi, Dr. Kumuda Pradhan, Dr. Eugene Rozenshteyn, Dr. Ajay Singh, Dr. Ann Smith, Dr. Lihui Tang, Dr. George Thomas, and Dr. Rafael Velez.

The LECOM students typically spend part of their second year of study at hospitals such as Somerset Hospital where they have the opportunity to actively participate in actual patient encounters, obtaining histories and performing examinations.

LECOM support their teaching physicians with faculty development workshops, continuing medical education conferences and through a Master of Science in Medical Education program.
