Somerset Hospital has announced that Stephen M. Weiss, M.D., has been named the medical director of the hospital’s Advanced Wound Care Center.
Dr. Weiss will be responsible for reviewing patient care and results and providing oversight and guidance on policies and procedures. He is a general surgeon with over 30 years of medical experience. Most recently, he was instrumental in starting two surgical practices in Georgia and North Carolina. In addition, Dr. Weiss has also served as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery for both the Pinnacle Health System in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and the Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Weiss is a graduate of the Temple University School of Medicine and completed his surgical internship and residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

The Advanced Wound Care Center at Somerset Hospital is staffed with specialists who provide evaluation, individualized treatment plans and coordinated care on an outpatient basis.
