Somerset Hospital and Foundation Radiology Group are pleased to announce the addition of Edward B. Schmidt, M.D. as the Medical Director for the Somerset Hospital Department of Radiology.

Dr. Schmidt is a graduate of the Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in Texas and his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas. Dr. Schmidt completed post residency training in breast imaging at Womack Army Medical Center where he also held the position of Chief of Breast Imaging, Diagnosis and Interventions.

Prior to joining the Somerset Hospital Medical Staff, Dr. Schmidt had a long, prestigious career as a staff radiologist in addition to garnering several academic and hospital leadership appointments. He has conducted dozens of presentations and lectures on breast imaging as well as other diagnostic imaging techniques and conditions.
