Somerset Hospital’s Diabetes Education Center is sponsoring a recycling program for used or broken glucometers. Persons may bring their devices to any one of the 16
drop-off locations.
"We are asking everyone to do their part to reduce waste and ensure proper and safe disposal," states Elena Gary, Certified Diabetes Educator at the hospital. No sharps, lancet devices or carrying cases will be accepted at this time.
Drop-off locations include: Somerset Hospital Diabetes Education Center, the North Center Avenue Giant Eagle Pharmacy, Somerset Medicine Shoppe, Somerset Med Services, Somerset County Blind Center, the Somerset Wal-Mart Pharmacy, and at the following physician offices: Dr. Ann Smith, Dr. Deborah Baceski, Dr. Emiliano Limcuando, Dr. Fariba Hassani, Dr. Tanaya Nayak, Medical Associates of Boswell Stonycreek St., and Route 30, Highlands Family Medicine and Somerset Family Practice Kimberly Avenue office and Pleasant Avenue office.
