Roxann Mapes, LPN, of the GI Lab Department is the Somerset Hospital Employee of the Quarter for July to September 2012.
Roxann began her career at Somerset Hospital as a LPN in 1979 on the 3 North Nursing Unit. She then transferred in 1987 to the Short Stay Surgery Department and in 2005 to the GI Lab.
Roxann was nominated by Sally Manges and several co-workers. “Roxann is a kind and compassionate nurse who always puts her co-workers and patients before herself,” states Amanda Thomas. “I have not encountered a more helpful and dedicated nurse,” added Sue Claar.
Roxann is now in the running for the Employee of the Year which will be announced in the Fall of 2013. Shown in the photo is CEO Michael Farrell presenting the Employee of the Quarter Award to Roxann Mapes.
