A medical laboratory scholarship in memory of former Somerset Hospital board member Don Meese has been established by the Somerset Hospital Foundation and the first recipients have been chosen. Collette Kozuch of Friedens and Jonathan Keen of Johnstown have each been awarded scholarships to further their education. Both students are working at the Somerset Hospital Laboratory while attending school. Mr. Meese, who served on the Hospital Board of Directors for over 40 years, lost his life in a traffic accident in late 2008. Shown in the photo from left is Natalie Lyons, Mr. Meese’s daughter, Lois Meese, Mr. Meese’s wife, and the recipients Collette Kozuch and Jonathan Keen displaying their scholarship certificates.
